That is fantastic news! Get a separate estimate from the paint shop to do your front bumper cover since they’ll already have mixed a batch of paint for the rear. You car is going to look like new!

I bet it was like that car I worked on. Once the body shop is invested into the car, insurance would cover extra expenses to fix it, rather than total it and have to pay the body shop for what they've already done. Congrats. I hope your running issues are minor. Any idea when it will be done?

Glad they're going forward with repair. Cost wise it can be so easy to total a 20+ year old car, but I just keep thinking how clean and well maintained the car is given the relatively minor damage. It's just not ready to be torn down for parts/scrap.

I'm happy for you Bernie, you and the car deserves it, there is still many miles of road ahead for you both. I also want to know what was the additional damage the body shop found.

Hidden damage to the metal bumper behind the plastic bumper and mounting points for the taillight have to be repaired.

Should have the car back late next week. If I am understanding the shop correctly, I got a whole new Torson Differential and and right axle.
