    Re: Slave cylinder issues

    Hi everyone...

    will be replacing as well, the complete clutch line + master / slave cylinder....

    Saw this offer... looks good:

    https://www.fkynsey.com/exedy-master...5-p-473036.htm

    Just need to find out if the clutch line is full length (connects directly from Master to Slave) or short (from behind the inlet manifold to slave).

    [QUOTE=Joe Morreale;64790

    I ordered a 65" braided line from Goodwin Racing. It will go from the master to the slave. Have a new master to finish it off. Now I just have to wait for the clutch line. Why do simple things turn out to be so complicated?[/QUOTE]

    5xRacing in St. Cloud, FL also sells them.

    I prefer the short line, others prefer the long line.

    They both do the same job, just comes down to preference.

    Re: Slave cylinder issues

    5x is on vacation until July 13th, I think. No orders or emails answered. I would have just got another short line but the 10mm nut, on the hard line to the master stripped. I hope Goodwin doesn't jerk me around. I have read some bad things about them. I ordered on the 25th. Yesterday I asked the status and they said they were waiting on a delivery of parts. I don't think I'm going to be running by the weekend. I'll check on the status again tomorrow and see if they actually have one in stock.

    Re: Slave cylinder issues

    My clutch line is supposed to be here today. I was wondering if I fit a bicycle tire valve into the master 's cap, then used my bicycle pump to pressurize the system to bleed it. Would it work? Do I keep clutch down or up while pressurizing? I've tried vacuum bleeding before but the bleeder is in an awkward spot. I'm putting master, whole new clutch line and slave. I anticipate problems bleeding.

    I was thinking of how bench bleeding works and would imagine the pedal would have to be depressed.

    As for that nut:

    Re: Slave cylinder issues

    Put the master in a vice and bench bleed it. Cap the line. Wait until the line arrives.

    I have a pressure bleeder and specific cap for the master. It doesn't take a lot of pressure to lift the reservoir up and have fluid leak past the seals. Anytime I use this bleeder, I use the specific caps and and a quick clamp to hold the reservoir to the body (brake and clutch masters)
