    Psycho25 Hurricane Dorian (Aug-Sept 2019)

Looks like Hurricane Dorian is coming this weekend and one model shows it parked right over Sebring. Make sure you stock up on hurricane supplies like beer, ammo and sweets. Might be a good idea to get a couple bottles of water too.

    Hurricane Dorian (Aug/Sept 2019)

25 years living in what I thought was a hurricane prone coastal area, Naples, and only got hit by one hurricane. Just 7 years in a "safe" place, in the middle of central FL, and I'm getting ready for my second major hurricane. Of course I live in a mobile home, which attracts tornadoes. I just hope it stays north of me. I'm locking the Miata up in the upholstery shop. It's pretty secure. Gas lines all around town. Walmart out of water. All the typical hurricane frenzy.

Currently, worse case for Port Charlotte/Punta Gorda area is a Cat 1 with 3 - 8 inches of rain. Hey, we've been through worse.

    Re: Hurricane Dorian

I think we’ll be okay here too. My problem is whenever there’s a storm, my home health aides fail to show up which makes life really hard. I have all the supplies I need, collected during the off season so it’s nice not rushing to anywhere for water. I’ll probably top off my fuel tank when I’m out today but I’d do that anyway.

I’m a little worried about Joe though.

Stay safe Joe, if Dorian stays in the Atlantic your in for high winds and lots of rain. My biggest problem will be flooding, for the last two weeks with the daily summer rains Gateway has had several flood warnings and the grounds are soaked even with light rain fall it take a whole day of sunshine to evaporate the standing water in the areas without grass.

Hey, just checked the weather channel and the computer programs don't agree where the cat 4 Dorian is going to hit Florida. I guess we will know more by Friday or Saturday.

    Re: Hurricane Dorian

I've been keeping an eye on it. At least it's not looking too bad for the gulf coast. Wishing you guys the best.

Whew, this thing just keeps looking worse and worse! Wasn't it yesterday they were saying it was supposed to hit as a tropical storm???

    Re: Hurricane Dorian

It was supposed to fizzle. Surrounded by wind shear and dry air sprinkled with dust from the Sahara and die as it crossed the 10,000 ft. mountains of the Dominican Republic which they call the hurricane graveyard. Right......and now its projected to become a Cat 4 heading for the Florida coast. Right.
