It's really just a big miata

It's taken some time to find the right one, but I finally managed to snag an S2000. I left from work at 5pm yesterday, caught an Uber to Indiana, drove her back home, and pulled in the driveway just before 2am. It's a red 2001 with 134k miles on it, I got it for $10,750. It's got BC coilovers and Advan RG3 wheels, but other than that it's completely stock. It's got a few minor little things I'm wanting to fix, but overall it seems like it's in great shape and (thankfully) I didn't have any issues on the drive home.

I'm definitely not going crazy with this one like I have with the last few cars, but I do plan to do some minor bolton stuff eventually. Planning for an intake and exhaust, and I'd love to add a way to tune it but it seems like the only options I've found are super expensive. I'm going to try to keep a build thread going as it progresses.

So far the only pictures I have are from the for sale ad. I'm hoping to get it washed and cleaned up this evening and try to find some time to get more pictures soon. I'm really loving it so far, and I'm excited to get into something a little bit different.

I’ve always loved the front view with the bulging fenders. Didn’t the S2000 pioneer the big red start button?

Thanks guys, I'll always love miatas and it wouldn't surprise me at all if I end up owning another one day, I just felt like it was time to switch things up.

As far as I know they were the first with a start button, it's going to take me a bit to get used to.

I know exactly what you mean. I think we’ll both get another in time. I need life to settle down before I get another Miata. It’s kind of like making sure everything is right before adopting a new puppy.

I love me some S2K, too. Always wanted a white or silver one with the red interior. I drove an '05 a bit, to compare it with my e36 M3. I stayed with the M3.

If I ever 'upgrade', I'm considering a C6Z as my dual purpose. Those feel like a bigger Miata to me, with a lot more power.

Re: It's really just a big miata

I was trying to hold out for a 2002 white with all red interior, but in the couple months I've been looking I never even saw one listed for sale. From what I've seen the all red interior is crazy rare, around 1000 in the world between white, silver, and black cars.

Even when they do come up for sale they seem to be +5-10k above what similar cars sell for with a black interior. As much as I wanted one, I just couldn't justify it and I do love the red outside so I'm still happy.
