When these were the rage I was going to buy them. I'm glad I didn't now.

Re: Garage Star Delrin Door Bushings Revisited

My car is approaching 180k miles and only 20k has been since I've owned it so who knows what all it's been through. It could have easily gotten the body tweaked enough as some point that the stiff delrin bushings just aren't lining up how they should and that's the issue. It's not the worst thing in the world by any means, but my personal experience is a preference for the stock bushings.

Just a thought, but do you remember you hit a deep pocket hole some time ago and bottomed out with damage to the suspension linkage, could the hidden damage just now started showing up?

I think that if you can get them to fit right, they still have some merit. Tristan had a positive review of them.

Re: Garage Star Delrin Door Bushings Revisited

OK, I have come to a decision on these. I took an evening drive this weekend and have notice this before. I installed that light kit a few years ago on the at the foot well of both sides of the transmission tunnel. They are activated by a light switch at the bottom of the B Pillar of the door in front of the rear wheels. Now my chassis is really stiff especially with the Boss Frog double hoop roll bar. When I hit a bump or some rough pavement those lights flicker telling me that the door is bouncing a bit. This is where the theory of these things makes sense. I bit the bullet and ordered them and I will live with it if it makes the doors a little tougher to close. Will let you know how it turns out.

Is there a slight latch adjustment you could make too?

Doors latch perfectly. I am not going to mess with that.

I don’t know if you’re going to get much out of door stops. Maybe it’s time to look into frame rails.

They are on the list. Doing clutch, driveshaft, and shifter kit this fall. If I can swing it, maybe.

I felt a difference when I installed the Flyin Miata frame rails. The new ones, with the butterfly brace, are real nice. I had to remove my butterfly brace because the downpipe hit it. It's a factory one and not very strong anyway.
