Thanks, it is a bummer to throw in the towel but its probably for the best. Hopefully I can find a suitable replacement.

Call me, I have a few questions. Don’t want to do a ton of fab work at this point. My 2560 should get me to a nice safe number, not sure I want to keep pushing it and end up just breaking stuff all the time. 2860 would be a pretty sweet compromise. My motor should hold up quite well.

Time is scarce, enthusiasm is depleted. If anyone is interested in taking this thing it can be yours for $5000, I actually posted it locally and got no interest. I'll be happy to put you up at the house for a few days if you want to make a trip of it.

Time has been scarce lately, but I'm moving forward with the partout. I'm hoping I can get some big stuff pulled off by MATG and hopefully sell some stuff there. Josh if you're serious about the turbo/downpipe just let me know and I can pull it off for you. I'd love to get this thing past the "point of no return" so I can stop wavering on what to do, haha.

Whatever I do go with won't be nearly as involved as my last few cars. I want to get something I can do suspension, maybe some minor boltons, and just drive the thing. The twisty roads up here will be awesome with a low power car, and I'm really looking forward to enjoying something milder and more reliable.

Sorry to read about your troubles, Scott. I definitely know how this goes.

Take time to consider what you want from the next car, whatever that may be, and find time to enjoy it as it is.

It's rough throwing in the towel but hopefully it's for the best. I don't feel like my car, even when running right, was the best car for me given the local roads. This should give me an opportunity to start fresh and find something more fitting.

Tough that it went this way. I saw your ad on MT, so I assume you've started to take stuff apart. Hope you can get good prices. Your situation made me rethink what I'm doing. I've decided not to build a rods motor. I'm just going to get one of those low mileage ones from the UK guy when it's time. Just staying with stock internals and 200-215 hp.

Still haven't sold anything yet, but it's slowly coming apart. Anxious to see some parts start leaving here.

Couldn't do it. It would be like dissecting a family pet. Best of luck parting it out and getting something new.

What do you mean? Are you daily driving it and are there lots of potholes?

I'm just not a good enough driver to handle the power its capable of on tight twisty roads. Power to weight wise the miata is 370/2300 = 6.2lb/hp vs something like an s2000 at 200/2800 = 14lb/hp. I think it'll be a lot easier to not accidentally launch myself off a cliff.

The K24 is in. He's hoping to have it started this weekend and on the road in a week or two. I'm super pumped to see it getting a second chance at life.
