Until now, the only quality short shift kit worth having is MiataRoadster's kit: http://miataroadster.com/miataroadster/miataroadster-short-shifter-kits/mrssk5sblb/i-2196282.aspx but TWM, maker of premium shift kits and knobs has finally forayed into Miata territory with its new kit for the NA Miata.

This piece genuinely looks impressive and the idea of eliminating the lower bushing is interesting.

This is a heads up from their website and hopefully someone here gets one so I can help with the install and review. They offer occassional sales like this weekend's 10%-Off for Memorial Day and also a permanent 10% off for Canadian and American military and veterans

TWM Performance Mazda Miata Short Shifter

The ULTIMATE Short Shifter for the Mazda Miata...

TWM Performance Short Shifters are CNC machined to aircraft industry tolerances and coated in our unique polished black finish for ultra low friction and extreme corrosion resistance.

Our Mazda Miata short shifter is engineered to give the best shift feeling available. Our unique design replaces the bottom stock bushings with ball bearings and stainless steel bushings. This combination eliminates the friction found in the stock bushings to create a far smoother and effortless shift feel. Other short shifters on the market will use nylon bushings or even the stock rubber bushings, already worn on the car over the years

It also features full reverse lockout compatibility. Our short shifter also use stainless steel spacers to keep the shift rod at a proper angle once the short shifter is installed, unlike the other shifters available on the market.

With this short shifter installed, you will enjoy a more precise and solid, as well as a more reliable shifter!

I had a TWM shifter in my Speed6. It was a quality piece and shifting was much better than stock. If their Miata shifter is built to the same standards it will be worth having.

They do make good stuff for sure. I still have my TWM that was in my Miata. So far, it has migrated from Niata to 370Z to Vette. I never want to part with it.
