    Re: Home theater anyone?

I got my new Polk bookshelf speakers in and I could tell when the box arrived, something was wrong. Either they were really well packed or I got a whole bookshelf stereo system by mistake.

Nope, my little bookshelf speakers were actually quite large! I was up late comparing specs and prices for the Polk S10s, S15s and S20s. I thought I bought the S15s but somehow I clicked on the S20s in the wee hours of the morning instead. I was originally going to use them as bookshelf stereo speakers for awhile and them migrate them to use as rear-fill speakers in my home theater but no chance of that happening now.

So, it looks like these are my permanent bookshelf stereo speakers now and that's fine. They're way bigger than the tinny stock speakers I wanted to upgrade and wouldn't be my first choice due to their size but my music sounds so wonderful now, I'm happy with my mistake.

These things are beefy but beautiful. After breaking them in for a week of playing a variety of music, they have that wonderful Polk sound I've come to love in my Polk car audio. I think they make the best choice for what I want in stereo speakers because they play my music so incredibly well as opposed to being used for rear fill speakers in a home theater.

Music and home theater are totally different in my opinion. I listen to a variety of music from classical to flamenco guitar to Dire Straits and so on. These speakers are perfect for the range of stringed instruments and vocals I listen to but home theater is totally different, consisting of car crashes, exploding space ships and Terminator gun fights these speakers would be overkill for.

Correct! That was a nice Mitsubishi TV it had a motor at the base that allowed the TV to turn either to the right or to the left.
