    Leather Seats

My drivers seat has some wear. Might try this stuff and might be worth a shot.

Joe went through that whole process a few years ago which lasted for awhile but I think you’re better off with actual replacement covers.

Have had good results and luck with other products, but AO does make a good point. Mazda leather in these cars is not very good.

Its not the original leather. Had them recovered about 10 years ago.

Custom leather shop in town. They do restorations and hot rods.

    Re: Leather Seats

I’ve I ever do my seats, it’ll be Napa leather on the sides with perforated velour on the seat and back. My 370Z had that and it was luxuriously soft, cooler in the summer and no sliding around the seat while turning.

    Re: Leather Seats

I will use synthetic materials on my seat recovering project. I'll likely re-shape the foam as well, but leather in small, sporty cars just doesn't hold up.

    Re: Leather Seats

MY replaced leather has done quite well and the worn area is the typical drivers left side bolster that gets rubbed getting in and out of the car. The other problem is teh foam has compressed over the years and there are no springs in the seats. Replacement foam is still available from Mazda, but just the drivers side lower seat bottom is $800.00 which they say is a discounted price. I will have to add some aftermarket foam to make up the difference at a much lower coast.

    Re: Leather Seats

It would be cheaper and better to have an upholstery shop recreate the foam shapes. A good shop will customize the contours to suit you and tailor the patterns to fit it like stock. They can layer the foams with different thicknesses and densities to create different spring rates. These are generally better quality materials than the OE moulded foams.
