I have the advance Auto ceramics on my van. They put the whoa on nice and smooth, something I couldn't say about the organic ones. They were grabby, dusty and wore out fast. It's like 4,000 lbs and has drums in the back, so all your braking is on the front.

I think you guys missed the joke with the gold plated rotors, as if I'd ever put those on my car, haha.

I was torn between Autozone and Advance Auto on brake pads. They seem to carry the same pads, probably made by Raybestos or Wagner but put on their own label. It was only after I came across a $40-off promo code for Advance on Retailmenot that I opted for the Wearever Platinum ceramics: https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/...463%7CL3*15694

    My new pads:

I like the Platinum kit because it contains all new hardware

And they have a hell of a shim, three or four layers and some honeycomb design

Does anyone know if I still need to grease these before going in or is the new high-tech stuff enough to eliminate squeak?

Would grease backing plates. It can't hurt and there are no negatives.

Duh! Didn't even notice in my own picture that they include grease in the kit.
