I finally made it to the dyno today. Pulls were done on a Mustang Dyno that's pretty notorious for hurting feelings. Overall I'm pretty happy with the numbers. For what it's worth, the printout shows a "Dynojet Estimate" of 368whp, which makes me feel a good bit better!

    329whp, 281wtq @ 245kpa (~20psi)
    300whp, 250wtq @ 210kpa (~16psi)

I actually held the "lowest hp" award for a couple hours before a 2012 Camaro SS took me down with a 312whp pull.

Damn right. Wow! If you have those kinds of numbers on a Mustang dyno, that’s some street cred right there. At least people can’t say “well if it was a Dynojet, it would be a lot lower.”

Scott, now that you’ve done an actual dyno, how well do you think your virtual dyno on your phone tracks with a real one?

    Cool story bro:

The Laser’s Mazda 1800cc four cylinder BPT engine is very a serious piece of machinery. Running a fully-strengthened bottom end using JE pistons and Belfab rods, combined with a modified BPZ3 variable valve timing head from an NB Mazda MX-5, the motor is super-strong, and gulps down air through four Toyota individual throttle bodies sitting on a custom billet adapter and intake plenum.

I actually did a couple shakedown pulls the morning before the dyno. These are the pulls, same boost pressure as the ones done on the dyno. Virtual dyno can simulate pulls as either Dynojet or Mustang, so I did it with both.

The actual dyno read 329hp/281tq with an estimated Dynojet number of 368hp on high boost
Virtual dyno shows 320hp/280tq on Mustang dyno, and 367hp on Dynojet on high boost.

The actual dyno read 300hp/250tq on low boost
Virtual dyno read 292hp/247tq on low boost

Overall, Virtual dyno continues to impress. I really doubt you'd get much more consistent numbers even if you were doing back to back runs on the dyno.

I mentioned at the meet yesterday that on the way up an Sti pulled out in front of me and floored it and I just went around him.

I pulled the video off my dashcam, make sure to watch long enough to enjoy my crazy person laugh.
