Re: '91 Grabber
That does look a lot better! Great idea
I hope it didn't cost much to make the improvement.....

Re: '91 Grabber
Not much. It makes me want to get stainless coolant lines now. The thought of an fittings all the way around would be nice clean and easy. I should look around for some stuff to sell. I could make that happen if I actually got rid of my last bits.

Re: '91 Grabber
I made my own coolant lines with aluminum tubing and a hand mandrel set (like for brake lines. I accidentally bought aircraft aluminum, which was much harder to bend. I also ordered a flare kit. You can flare the tubing to accept compression fittings, -AN, etc. I have reservations about braided coolant lines rubbing through other components. If you do, get the coated ones, or sheath them.

Re: '91 Grabber
I’ve heard aluminum is prone to breaking with vibration. I’d be all for hard lines, I guess it’s a matter of supporting them to not vibrate. I’ve Have access to flaring equipment, I’ve done my brake lines. I’m going to look into this.

Re: '91 Grabber
Well, finished with the swap.

Running good so far. I’m running at 7 psi what I was running at 12 psi with the 1.6. I’ll turn it up soon!

Great numbers. Are you using boost control? You get Max hp so early, compared to me.

Yes I’m running EBC. I feel it pulls hard all the way through and doesn’t want to fall off like the 1.6. I should prob keep my eyes open for a 2871 and a 99 head to rebuild, lol. In all reality I’m just hoping it all stays together.

Re: '91 Grabber
I love cold weather. Still 10lbs Boost. im Not sure how accurate this is, but man I can’t wipe the smile off my face. Hoping to see 260-270 with this setup, but I don’t know if this head will flow enough. I need to add some fuel u top to.

Fantastic spool and hp for only 10 lbs of boost. I'm sure you will hit your expected numbers soon. Better start saving for a stronger six speed and maybe a 3.9 or even 3.6 differential.
It has to be a great feeling to have built this motor from scratch. What size downpipe be and exhaust are you using? With the head work you did I'm sure the biggest exhaust system that will fit will be needed.
