    Door Latching

One item that's been (slightly) annoying me for the past 4-5 years involves the closing of the doors. It used to be just a little two finger action and the doors would latch fine. Now it involves the better part of slam (on both driver & passenger doors). Greasing the strikers and latches made it a little quieter, but still pretty much still requires a little effort (vs. the early days of ownership). Thoughts or suggestions?

Sounds like the hinge is beginning to sag. See if the striker post is getting smooth bright finish on one side.(Probably top) Does door close easily if you gently lift it from the bottom? Can you take the door when it's open back the back end and lift it to see if it has any play? This post may help you if so.

Thanks, Joe. I obviously didn't use the right search term on m.net the last time that I'd checked.

    Re: Door Latching

There is a little adjustment to be made to the latch but on my NB, I just slightly loosened the bolts from hinge to frame and tugged up a couple times and retightened and everything was perfect again. The driver door always seems to sag more over time than the passenger door obviously because it's used more.
