If they can squeeze 400 Corvettes in there, how about making it a candidate for the 2015 Miatapalooza?

You are more than welcome to set it up. I have no desire to run back and forth to set something up down there. Me personally,if I'm involved it needs to be somewhere I go to a lot for work or other reasons. I'm kind of picky that way. I spend enough gas and time on Miata meets in my own back yard. I go to Lakeland Orlando and Daytona every other week for work so I can expense it,not too mention all of those are only an hour away.

Can you even get enough help from Miata owners down there to pull it off ? I guess the SW Fl Miata club might have the willing personnel. If my plan doesn't come to be then I'll be sitting back and enjoy what someone else is willing to do.

Maybe you can hire the Vette club to run the meet.

Sorry if I sound like a prick but I'm giving my idea one more try,if it works Randy and I will be making a huge sacrifice of personal time and resources. If it doesn't and I'll know by the end of the Rolex two weeks from today it will fall on someone else to make Miatapalooza happen. At 63 I'm running out of steam, not too mention my desire to spend time and $$$ getting my car on the track.

Just a thought. I'm willing to help with them next Miatapalooza. Don't have much of a job here anymore.

Gilchrist Park could easily handle 400+ Miatas. It's free, has restroom facilities, lots of trees for shade, ocean breeze, beautiful views, hotels and eats within walking distance, available on-site catering, the pier with the waterside night club/restaurant and sunset boat cruises.

I would dive headlong into having Miatapalooza 2015 here if I had a couple other dedicated folks to help and if the Miata community wouldn't snicker at little Punta Gorda because it's not Lakeland or Tampa. I have no doubt it's a lot of work to coordinate and hats off to Thumper and Phat. I wish different cities in FL with strong Miata clubs would host Miatapalooza each year.

Yata, the park looks really nice, and you could get that food service truck. You know the SE Mazda guys hold a BBQ picnic every year at Markham Park. It's not a huge event but I make the pilgrimage down for it.

It wouldn't be a M iatapalooza kind of thing but if you guys get together with the Miami Ft Lauderdale crew you could start an annual event that switches coasts every other year. Over there they just make it a Mazda thing, not just Miatas but they get a good sized turnout. Usually about 40 cars.

Tampa and Lakeland are no dream sites either but Lakeland is dead smack in the middle of the state and it makes it easier to attract cars from all over. I doubt anybody would snicker about that park,it appears to be really nice.
